Let me tell you a short story about what brought me to hosting an internet radio show. I shifted careers 2010. I started selling a Multi-Level Marketing Product. Part of this process was doing presentations in people homes. I have to tell you that I was so bad that after the presentation I didn’t even understand what I was selling. So I started going to networking groups and giving my 30 second commercial to see if that worked. I found that I was just another business owner in a large group trying to show my expertise. I struggled with this whole concept of being sold by almost everyone I spoke with. Someone suggested that doing an internet radio show would help me to do one on one’s a little differently and also be able speak better at presentations. I start asking business owners to be guest on my show so that I could help them market themselves and show what separated them from everyone else. I started inviting local charities to the show to raise awareness. I found out everything about the owners of the businesses and charities. It gave my listeners a chance to make a connection with the guest.
I made it a habit not to sell on my show. I just get marketing my guest. In just one year’s time I have built more recognition and a lot of people know who I am in Houston, across the country and now around the world. I’ve have over 50,000 people listen to my shows in one year.
