Tough Talk Christian Radio with Host Tony Gambone and Special Guest Peyton Leonard:
Peyton Leonard. I am an international author, singer, composer, and actress from a little town called Olney.
Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve always loved to sing, but I didn’t get serious about it until the age of 10. I started writing my own music and teaching myself how to play piano around this time. An opera singer in my church taught me how to sing classically for 6 years. I went on to James Madison University, majoring in Vocal Performance – Opera. “Phantom of the Opera” inspired me to pursue opera, even though it’s a musical.
While I was at JMU, I contracted Lyme disease and had to withdraw from school. I was then diagnosed with depression and borderline personality disorder. It was a challenging time in my life. God used music to help me get back on my feet. I’m now in school again, but I’m getting my Bachelor’s in English. I wrote my first book in 2016 and plan on publishing another book in the Fall of 2018.
Some really exciting stuff is happening in my career right now. I have a Grammy-Nominated producer that is coaching me and helping me record some music. I have a second book coming out this Fall and I’m scheduled to do some interviews on the radio. God has really been blessing my life despite the hardships I’ve endured. www.peytonnaomileonard.com
